Individual Therapy

Over the past 8 years I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with a broad range of needs and expectations. My work primarily focuses on supporting clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am also passionate about helping people set boundaries in their relationships, advocate for themselves, build self-confidence, and commit to realistic self-care. I am mindful of the importance of context, including systemic barriers, cultural norms, and the dynamic nature of the counseling relationship itself in order to identify the best approach for you as an individual or family.

I center my work with clients, irrespective of age and experience, on the belief that fundamentally every one of us is doing the best we can at any given moment. I strive to create the space necessary to move through what feels, and can be, unbearable, and move forward with hope and intention.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy utilizes a combination of theories, including person centered, trauma focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

In addition, I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) through HomeBase in Boston. CPT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses specifically on treating trauma and trauma symptoms; research has shown that symptoms can decrease after completing the course of 12 sessions. CPT focuses on helping someone challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma.

Intake Sessions

During the intake session we will review current symptoms and discuss relevant history. If you are planning on seeking reimbursement from insurance we will review a diagnosis. We will also identify what you hope to achieve through therapy and center our work around this. We will then outline a treatment plan that highlights goals aligning with your beliefs and incorporating my expertise.

Cost of Services

Insurance Companies that I am “in-network” for:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Optum

  • Harvard Pilgrim

  • Mass General Brigham/Allways Health

  • Tufts Health Plans

Self-Pay Fees:

Intake Assessment: $200 (60 minutes)

Individual Therapy Session: $150 (50 minutes)

If you have concerns about cost but feel like we could be a good fit to work together, please reach out. I have some sliding fee spaces.

If I am not currently an "in-network" provider for your insurance, I am able to provide a superbill for "out-of-network" benefits. Most health insurance plans will reimburse for a portion of the out of pocket payments you make. This means that you can call your insurance and ask if they will reimburse you for payments for an out of network therapist; in practice this means that you will pay my fee up front and then your insurance will pay you back for part of this amount.

Example questions for insurance:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy with a licensed mental health counselor? What are the benefits?

  • Is there a limit to the number of sessions I can use under these benefits?

  • What percentage of the service fee is covered?

  • Do I need to submit any forms to use my out-of-network benefits?
